GRAND PRIX WINNERS
Making the history of Grand Prix racing transparent is a very difficult task. Many authors have tried to do this in the past, therefore today some data differ depending on the source, which they come from. This is also why unifying them is not easy, that the official competition for the world title after the previous chaos in the assessment and criteria was announced by the FIA International Automobile Federation only after the end of the Second World War. Until then, all efforts to determine the best automotive competitor had not been very objective. For example: who was to be recognized as the world champion in the years 1921-1924, when only two or three Grand Prix races were held? What to consider as a greater predisposition to the championship title: the skills of a competitor who wins most races and drives different cars (1933 – Nuvolari: Alfa Romeo, Maserati), or vice versa, great car winning multiple times no matter what, who is driving (1938 – Mercedes-Benz)?
List, which is presented in this publication, it is limited by its purpose and volume, and has no claim to absolute perfection. From 1906 year, when the first official Grand Prix race was held, up to a year 1923 the winners of the Grand Prix of the French automobile club are presented (ACF), US Grand Prix and Italian Grand Prix. In the period 1923-1965 victory in the most important Grand Prix races was honored with the title of the European Grand Prix and the winners of this title are mentioned. In years 1931-1939 the European Grand Prix races were not held, but the players' European championship was announced.
For a year 1950 everything is already specified. The first five places are scored in individual Grand Prix races. The competitor becomes the world champion, who gets the most points. Do 1959 years, depending on the place, the players got 8, 6, 4, 3 i 2 points. One point was added for the fastest lap. W 1960 of the year, the sixth place was also awarded one point. From 1961 of the year, the competitor receives the first place 9 points.
