TATIO GIORGIO NUVOLARI (1892-1953) – Italian
Crazy racing speed and birthplace – Mantua - gave the nickname "The Flying Mantua” brilliant, sometimes driving diabolically to the master of the steering wheel. He introduced his characteristic feature to the art of driving - his hands are stretched out on the steering wheel, a style taken over and still used by all players today. He is the author of the cornering technique, which the English called "four wheel drift” - controlled slip of all four wheels. His career is closely related to Alfa Romeo cars, from which he squeezed almost impossible achievements. After all, at the German Grand Prix in 1935 of the year, started in Alfa with an engine half the power of five Mercedes and four Auto Union, against players like Caracciola, Brauchitsch, Stuck or Rosemeyer - and he won. It was the greatest victory of all 64 victories in his thirty-year career, during which, in addition to Alfa Romeo, he also led the Bugatti cars to the winning goal, Maserati, MG and Auto Union. He died a year after his last aged competition 61 years, after a serious illness caused by an allergy to exhaust gases.
