Summer glide – aquaplaning
Loss of car control due to skidding, is one of the most common causes of car accidents. It seems obvious, that the risk of skidding is incomparably greater in winter. However, it is worth paying attention to a similar threat, waiting for drivers during the warmer months, especially in summer. Aquaplaning is almost the same, what a normal slip, however, it is usually caused by wet surfaces, which is easy to find in hot weather, but stormy summer. The effects of this phenomenon can be dire. The degree of risk of falling into Aquaplaning depends on the condition of our tires and the level of their inflation. The more the tire is worn, the faster it loses adhesion to the substrate. If we add too little pressure inside it, the car can pull away from the road already at a speed of 50 km / h. This is why, that the tire is unable to drain excess water, with which he comes into contact. As long as we take care of the pressure in the wheels of our car, the aquaplaning limit increases by up to 20 km / h. While having new tires, they can feel much safer. However, this does not change the fact, that during rainfall, even, when the beautiful sun comes out shortly afterwards, all road maneuvers should be performed with particular care.
