Capacity engine 1349 cm3 has been available in cars offered on the markets of Western Europe since the very beginning of Lanos's existence, where it is very popular. The introduction of this unit to Poland made it possible to create a cheap model, intended for recipients, who, when choosing a vehicle, are guided by the ratio of its size and functionality to price. For Lanos 1.4 this indicator is favorable.
It is a model with basic equipment. As standard, the manufacturer offers only the factory immobilizer, clock and additional, third stop lamp. The list of options for additional equipment includes: airbag for the driver, system ABS, air conditioning and metallic paint. Model 1.4 like other versions of Lanos, it is covered by a three-year warranty, free service and assistance.
Lanos 1.4 differs from other models not only in the engine, but also a simplified front suspension, which uses a different spring height compared to the model 1.6, and smaller, 13-inch wheels and no power steering. The brake system is also different. The front wheel brake discs have a diameter 236 mm and the diameter of the piston in the caliper 48 mm. For comparison, these sizes in the version 1.6 are as follows: 256 i 52 mm.
Lanos engine 1.4 is a unit with an in-line arrangement of cylinders, a camshaft with two valves in the cylinder and a camshaft located in the cylinder head. It is powered by an electronically controlled multi-point petrol injection into the intake manifold.
This engine is characterized by good flexibility, the lowest fuel consumption among the engines offered by Daewoo in Lanos and low noise level in the low and medium range of crankshaft revolutions. These features have been achieved, choosing such ratios of the gearbox and main gear, for the fifth gear to be an overdrive (relatively high travel speed at low engine revs). The declared maximum speed of Lanos 1.4 reaches in heat IV.
Daewoo to Lanos 1.4 offered a factory-fitted power supply system with a mixture of liquefied propane and butane, with all applicable approvals and not affecting the warranty conditions of the vehicle. The toroidal gas tank is located in the spare wheel recess, and the spare wheel is in a protective bag, which, thanks to the sewn-on velcro fasteners, catches on the trunk lining and thus becomes immobilized during driving or sudden braking.
