CITROEN B2 – year 1921
Manufacturer: SA Other Citroen, Paris, France
W 1900 r. Andre Citroen set up a factory for special gears with roof toothing. The later trademark of the company represented symbolically two interlocking roof circles.
The first car of the brand was the A type, in which Citroen made full use of American production technology. Most of the machines that made the production lines were also imported from America. The car was presented in a 4-seat version in the shape of a three-door torpedo in July 1919 r. It was powered by a 4-cylinder in-line engine with a cylinder diameter 65 mm and piston stroke 100 mm, which represented the displacement 1327 cm3. At maximum power 13,3 kW (18 KM) i 2100 RPM developed speed 65 km/h. Driving comfort was ensured by a long wheelbase - 2835 mm. He belonged to the construction curiosities: electric motor starter, electric lighting and complete spare wheel - tire assembly and pumping are out of the question. In the years 1919—1920, the type A was the basic model in the brand's production program.
In April 1921 r. a new B2 model with a more powerful engine appeared. With the diameter of the cylinders increased to 68 mm, the displacement reached 1452 cm3, and the power grew to 14,7 kW (20 KM) by 2100 RPM, 3-a stepped gearbox transferred power to the rigid rear axle. With not reduced weight 850 kg the car was developing speed 70 km/h. Citroen B2 was produced in various variants to 1926 r.
W 1921 r. Andre Citroen presented his most successful small car model at the Motor Show. It was the C3 model, more often called Trefle - trifoliate, due to the typical seating arrangement. Equipped with a relatively weak displacement engine 855 cm3, he was developing speed 60 km / h and soon became the most popular model of the time. From a 4-cylinder engine with low valve and power 16,2 kW (22 KM), the drive was transmitted via a 3-speed gearbox to the rear wheels. Do 1926 r. released over 80 000 pieces of this model, many copies have survived to this day.
