Style BMW 328 was undoubtedly the greatest achievement in the pre-war production of Bayerische Motoren Werke GmbH cars.
The production of models with 6-cylinder engines was initiated in 1934 r. model 315, whose engine had a capacity 1499 cm3, and power 25 kW (34 KM). A year later, this model developed into a beautiful 2-seater roadster 315 Touring Sport. In the following years, larger types emerged 319 i 319/1 with a 2-liter 6-cylinder engine and three carburettors.
BMW's most successful sports car 328 it was also equipped with this engine, with cylinder capacity 1971 cm3 with three Solex carburettors and hemispherical combustion chambers, whose power was 58,8 kW (80 KM) by 4500 RPM. The vehicle had a 4-speed synchronized gearbox. The hydraulic brakes worked on all of them 4 wheels with sizes 5.50-16; 2-the local roadster cost money in Germany at the time 7400 marek. Mass-produced cars, initially intended for everyday use, thanks to their sporting ambitions, they were included among the most interesting car constructions and although they were not the cheapest, represent the premium brand of the German automotive industry.
Model construction 328 it was also successful abroad. The English company Frazer-Nash produced it under license.
