AERO 662 – year 1933

Aero aircraft factory, based in Prague, during the period of lower demand for the machines it produces, decided to expand its production program. W 1925 r. obtained a license to manufacture bodies according to Weymann's invention. Factory owner, dr Kabes, He also managed to obtain a permit for the bodywork of foreign cars.
First own car, Aero 500, the work of the designer, Eng. Novotnego, built over 5 months. The single-cylinder 2-stroke engine had a displacement 499 cc and developed power 7,35 kW (10 KM) przv 2700 RPM.
W 1931 r. The Aero is equipped with a 2-cylinder two-stroke engine, which with the diameter of the cylinders 75 mm and the piston stroke as well 75 mm, had a displacement 662 cm3. The model had a typical designation according to engine capacity – the symbol "662″. The engine had thermosiphon cooling, using the natural momentum of air. The battery-coil ignition system was controlled by two cams on the crankshaft. The engine was equipped with a carburetor with a slide valve of the English production Amal. A conical clutch transferred the drive to a 3-speed gearbox, located at the rear bridge. Both rigid axles were suspended on quarter-elliptical springs - at the front with friction shock absorbers.
After leaving the factory, Eng. Novotny in 1934 r. The concept of Aero cars has also changed. New model, Aero 30, got front-wheel drive. Two-stroke engine 1 -liter with needle bearing connecting rods developed power 21 kW (28 KM). Together with the gearbox and the differential, it was placed under the long bonnet, giving the car a sporty look. Some bodies were developed by the well-known company Sodomka from Wysokie Myta. Aero 30 have reached maximum speed 100 km/h.
The last cars of this series were produced by the factory in 1945 r.
